ABOUT ME

KyanaAlvarez121582_(2).jpg

Hi, I'm Kyana!

I'm a journalism student at Toronto Metropolitan University. Through my studies, I'm refining and developing my skills and passions for video/audio producing and editing, graphic design, literature analysis and professional communication.

I like to write short stories and poetry, usually adaptations of Greek Myths like Medusa, Persephone, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Icarus.

I host a radio show for MET Radio 1280 AM called "Toronto Nature Now," host another segment on MET Radio called "The Hollywood Herald," and created a limited series podcast for a project called, "Faking the Presses."

I enjoy reviewing and analyzing movies, TV shows, books and theatre in my free time. I'm currently reading my way through Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Series and Jane Austen's works; my favourites are Pride and Prejudice, Emma and Northanger Abbey.
